We've had fifty years of letting coaches teach Civics, History, and Geography under the meaningless title of "Social Studies". Our textbooks are bowlderized into unmemorable pap. We have amused ourselves to death, and it's no surprise that the United States is reaping the whirlwind.
Ah, that is why I know how to think. I didn't have coaches teach me civics --and I actually took a logic class in high school.(how to recognize bullshit--8-;) It probably also caused my college prep high school classmates to be as depressed as I am about the current world events. Sigh, Dee Ann
